LuLus: a San Francisco Find!!

Yesterday, Sunday, after visiting the Museum of Modern Art, My wife and
I had an early dinner at Restaurant LuLu (recommended by the museum
staff). It was great!! The restaurant is spacious, clean, nice seating
and (for us) very good service and food. We arrived just after 3 PM,
(on a Sunday) and the restaurant had stopped serving full dinners, but
did still offer several pizzas, salads and other entrees. We chose
their spaghettini with shellfish and a side dish of spinach. The
spaghettini was loaded with shellfish; shrimp, tender calamari, small
baby squid, two kinds of mussels, all in a delicious tomatoe sauce. The
spinach was served very hot, but not overcooked, with a touch of
garlic. They also served an excellent whole wheat bread, far better
than what most restaurants offer.

The cost of our spaghettini was $10.25 and the spinach was $3.50, we
thought both were good values. The LuLu Restaurant is located on in San
Francisco on Folsom Street, between Fourth and Fifth, Phone number is
415-495-5775. It's definitely a find!! Try it.

Hmmm, interesting. I too have really enjoyed the food and
service at LuLu's, while several others in this medium have
complained about poor and rude service. It's worth noting that we
too arrived at an uncrowded hour, about 5:00 PM on a Sunday night.

So, I would venture the opinion that LuLu's isn't so bad if
you dine off-hours, and in fact, was pretty darn good for us. Not
that rude service is excusable at any hour of the day...
