John Bentley has announced his restaurant, John Bentley's, on El Camino Real
in Redwood City will be closing in April when it lease runs out. It will
coincide with his retirement from the restaurant business. The property
will then be redeveloped for senior housing.

Here's the Palo Alto Weekly article on the closing:

Wish I could say I would miss it, but while I enjoyed my one meal there,
the space was claustrophobic and we never went back.

The John Bentley's in Woodside, which closed several years ago, was
superior in my opinion. My wife and I had a couple of memorable
anniversary dinners there. We miss it. But the Redwood City one
didn't impress us. We ate there once after the Woodside one closed
down, and it just wasn't up to the standards the Woodside location
led us to expect.
