Well, I've tried this place several times now and I really think it's
deserving of continued life and mostly of greater patronage.

I especially like their "Sizzling Gulf of Bangkok", a stew of fish,
mussels, shrimp, calamari, mussels, crab claws, scallop medallions,
baby corn, carrot medallions, dried chiles and cashew nuts. Highly
recommended, and not available at Bangkok Bay a few steps down
Broadway. Erawan is not visible from El Camino, (as BB is) but it's
well worth the turn onto Broadway. Park at the Caltrain station, or
across El Camino on Broadway where there's tons of parking if Sequoia
High School isn't having an event.

thanks for the rec. i ate at bangkok bay about two weeks ago and
thought that the price is right for the quality and amount of food
we got. service was really spotty though...will have to recommend
giving erawan a shot for the next group outing.

Last couple of times I've been there, they've had bargain "early-bird
specials" (with a pretty good choice) extending to 7 PM. Are they still
doing that? The problem with the service is a tendency for all of the
staff to accumulate in the rear of the restaurant. If you can get their
attention, they are quite efficient.

Haven't tried that yet -- indeed I hadn't even realized it wsa there
until the above post. (I wonder if it's in the slot previously
reserved for Turkish restaurants.)
