No idea if it's any good, but Rangoon in Palo Alto (on Ramona St.
downtown) serves Burmese food.

It's all right but not great. It's more Chinese than
Burmese; only a couple of the dishes I've tried there
reminded me of anything I ate in Burma.

Definitely more Chinese than Burmese, and many of the servers can't even
pronounce the names of the dishes correctly. What nominally Burmese
dishes they have tend to taste like Chinese interpretations of the real
thing. The closest decent Burmese restaurant to the South Bay is Innya
Lake, in San Bruno. Sorry, I don't remember the address offhand.

Tried it once. Didn't like it and won't go back, but this
is just one data point and I have no idea if I ordered the
wrong dishes or got the bad chef or what.
Well, it's not in the South Bay, but if you find yourself near Berkeley
you should definitely try Nan Yang near the corner of College & Claremont.
(Strictly speaking, I guess that's actually Oakland.) Having never
been to Burma I can't vouch for the authenticity of the cuisine, but
the food is outstanding, and definitely not thinly veiled Chinese.
