Napolean was French. The French used to lead in the
perfume business, it covered nasty smells. In those days, there
was not a lot of bathing.
The Napolean quote as taught to me by my French speaking
father was "Ne lavez pas je reviendrai".
There is a Worth perfume called "Je Reviens", which alas
the Goggle monster translates as "I come". I always wondered if
the name was inspired by the Napolean Josephine tale.

She may have, but how much?

When there are hot showers, daily. When up country? Not at
all.
