Watching the new 'Check Please Bay Area' they said for the
first time ever that they could not show the third restaurant
review with no explanation. Lawsuit? Closed? Punches thrown?

Any ba.food-ies know the scoop? It is the episode with
Los Arquitos and Lavash. An older segment on Seven Hills
was inserted instead of the mysterious third review.

This episode was actually from October, but today's rerun made me
wonder all over again what happened.

If the place had gone out of business then Leslie simply would have
said that, without mentioning the name. But this was a little more
mysterious.

So it's off to Google, which found this bit on the guest's Facebook
page:

Re: Check Please.
It was Sir and Star in Olema. The restaurant agreed and then backed
out saying they were understaffed - something along those lines.

Maybe the restaurant knew they'd had some off nights and were worried
that one or more of them could have been during visits by the
anonymous show guests. During the show's end credits, they do say
that restaurants are not informed and cameras are not present during
guest visits. But maybe they have to sign a waiver after the fact, or
maybe KQED simply honored a request not to be featured - either
worried about too much business, or the risk of potentially bad
reviews.

Google also found this funny stand-up routine from Maureen Langan (the
guest w/o a restaurant).
