Contra Dance all week around SF Bay Area at New Years

The Avant Gardeners have decided to flee the snow and rain of the East
and North and spend a week in sunny California. We’ve lined up 8
dances for them including a fabulous New Years Eve in San Rafael.

The Avant Gardeners are Laura Light on fiddle and George Paul on
piano, they will be joined by Dave Bartley on mandolin, guitar and
bazuki and Jubal Creech on percussion. They were out this summer to
play for the week at BACDS American Week in Mendocino and the dancers
were buzzing like bees about the wonderful time they had. Be sure to
brush up on your favorite old rock songs so you can sing ‘My Girl’
along with Laura Light as you dance.

The centerpiece of this tour is the NBCDS New Years Dance in San
Rafael at the Masonic Lodge. The Avant Gardeners will be laying down a
bed of fine music for Andy Wilson's calling of contra dances to help
the New Year grow.

Andy Wilson will be sure to keep us moving right into the New Year
with smooth calling and a touch of good humor along the way. He'll be
cooking up something interesting for the stroke of midnight.

If NYE is not enough of this hot music, you can hit 7 more dances with
the Avant Gardeners that week. It might be worth coming out to visit
your Aunt Agnes or go couch surfing in California.
