I watched an Evening Magazine the other night, and Malou is starting to
look either old or aged.

She's a good deal younger than I am. Both she and her friend - my
former condo neighbor - were lookers when I knew them a number of
years ago.

BTW - her last name is spelled NUBLA.

Oh thanks. I don't watch the show that much. I just know she lives in
Belmont,CA now.

Can anyone explain to me why Malou Nubla NEVER wears skirts or dresses
on Evening Magazine? I used to watch her on her old Bay TV show (with
John Kessler) and periodically she would give us quite a leg show. She
may be ageing a bit (who isn't?) but looks to me to be in pretty damn
good shape otherwise.

Puzzled,

YES, whats up with this? Channel 5 Censorship? When she wears a nice
top, she wears a T-Shirt under it to hide everything. So we have two
extremes on TV, Malou on Evening Magazine and Paris Hilton washing a
car for Carls' Jr.

I'm curious why women have to show all on TV or be thought of as "old
or aged" and yet nobody here is clamoring to see a barechested Dan
Ashley or Ross Polombo. Women have to be sexy or they're just old
hags, and men aren't given any consideration at all? This seems
incredibly sexist to me. Shame on you guys for even going off on this
tangent.

That's because it's the male point of view. The vast majority of
women are not that big on looks alone. Men however are consumed with
looks. That's why it's so hard for older women to get men. This was
great back in the caveman days but now it's just sad.

I'm not sure that's exactly the case. A search on the personal ads on
Craigslist using the search term "older" shows a *lot* of younger men
desiring older women. And I mean a *lot*. The largest growing segment
of the porn industry right now is mags and videos featuring women over
50.

I just get really annoyed when a woman is trashed for not showing her
legs on TV. Jeez, this is the Bay Area, the cradle of civilization and
all that...

BoyToys on Craigslist and perverts...not exactly a valid cross-section.

Many of the babes on KRON are knockin' 50 and they show some nice legs once
in awhile. Nothing wrong with that.

And....some of them can actually put grammatical sentences together
without a writer. Susan Blake has always impressed with her ability to
speak.

The KRON staff continues to be the best overall for quality of
reporting, quality of delivery, and downright braininess. KTVU is
still good, but the increase in celebrity news bothers me, so I no
longer take it as seriously.

Absolutely, and she's good example of the "mature" babe hottie to which I
referring. Ditto, Vicki Liviakis, hard to believe she's over 50.

KRON is generally the morning news I watch. The talent is pretty damn good
and unpretentious.

I think quite a few of these guys are looking for "sugar mommas" or just
mother figures. But I hope most are looking for older women just because
they like mature women.

I notice a lot of times that when news reporters do street
interviews, they take pictures of the men from the neck up. On women they
make sure to get their boobs in if it's a young hot thing their talking to.
This is the cradle of civilization alright, male dominated civilization.

One suspects when HDTV is commonplace, the trend to use good looking
women will only get worse. I was subject to about 5 minutes of Regis
and Kelly recently. It's nearly as bad as Good Day LA.

I saw some photos of Malou in San Jose rag-azine within I think the
last two years. She looked fine. I recall the article said she is
prematurely gray, which is OK for a guy, but as a woman on TV, she has
to have her hair dyed. [Other than Patti Smyth, I can't think of any
woman entertainer with gray hair.]

Indeed many/most of them are. I have a friend, a woman in her 50s, who
has answered a number of those ads and she hasn't yet met a guy wanting
to sponge off her. Instead she's found some very sweet (and very
horny) guys. She hasn't settled down with any of them, but did date
one for about 8 months.

I know people in the industry.

Interesting. I hadn't noticed that.

Jane Fonda? He said pulling the pin and closing his eyes.

I stand corrected, though Bonnie just has a gray streak. I recall she
made some statement about being OK with how she looks.

I picked up a copy of Don Juan De Marco when Brando died and couldn't
believe the amount of plastic done on Fay Dunaway. We're talking
Michael Jackson here.

Dan Ashley? I don't look at him. I do look at Pete Wilson's big head.
Do you think he has alot of neck pain?

I watched Evening Magazine last week, and Malou was wearing something
nicer. She looks nicer outdoors in the sunshine. Maybe it was the bad
lighting that made her look older. If she needs a new partner, maybe
Karel needs TV time.

It's strange how the viewers tolerate some really craggy guys but the
ladies have to run off to the plastic doc every few years. I recall one
lady anchor who wore glasses on air after one operation and used makeup
to hide what were really black eyes from a crow's feet removal.
HD is really unsparing. Even makeup looks like makeup. It takes a new
shelf of magic chemicals to achieve that natural look.

Think the title says it all.. carrying on that thread says more about the

Well, maybe she's not supposed to be eye candy. So, I suppose its OK
that she's no longer a babe.
