Well, all San Francisco Bay Area TV stations covered the "amazing"
Richmond sinkhole "that swallowed a car" but no one could beat NBC11's
coverage.

First, they had their shots from earlier in the day, when there was
actually real daylight to see the hole, but they also sent out a
live reporter/crew to be on-the-spot for the dramatic events at
11:00pm...
Then they topped everyone else at 11:03pm by having a "live"
helicopter shot from above, clearly showing the sinkhole somewhere
down there in the complete darkness.

After that dramatic coverage of the sinkhole, they later, at
11:20pm, had a on-the-scene "update" of all the breaking events that
might have occurred between 11:00pm and 11:20 pm.
NO other station can claim more complete coverage of the "amazing"
sinkhole that swallowed one unoccupied automobile.

Then back to Jessica Aguirre letting us know that any updates or
changes in the sinkhole will be covered at 6:00am. Who knows, that
dangerous sinkhole might swallow half of Richmond overnight.

Jessica, always the consummate professional, but don't ya think that
Tom Sink-o-vitz could have given us the real inside scoop.

BTW, don't you think Tom Sink-o-vitz has just too much darn hair for
any one 50 year old guy?
Why not spread the wealth around by donating some transplant plugs to
the needy?

Nobody complains about Dolly Parton wearing a wig. Nobody complains about
Howard Stern wearing a wig.

Oh, to keep this on topic, has Howard Stern ever been to the Richmond
sink hole?

Surely you aren't suggesting that Tom Sink-o-vitz is wearing a toupee.

Take a good look at him. NO ONE makes a wig that looks like that.
I am certain what is on top of his head is just the 99th percentile
of God's "bell shaped curve"

After all, NBC11 doesn't allow any of their on-air news personnel to
make any physical alterations in their appearance.

No wigs, no plastic surgery, no implants, just the real news
delivered by real people.
Just like KGO radio's policy. Part of all on-air personnel contracts
is the clause prohibiting hair transplants and wigs.
Keeping it real at 810...

BTW, what is up with Ch7's Dan Ashley? He seems to change the way
he combs his hair about every 4 months.

Well I'm clearly not up on my Howie trivia. But that's a hell of a lot
of hair for a wig. I didn't know they made them like that. I know Phil
Spector has some serious rugs, but they also look like rugs.

How about local TV. Any serious rugs?

I'm thinking but can't recall anyone.

Oh, I know one. Not a reporter, but a often seen person in the local
news.

John Burris. Where in God's name did he get that thing on top of his
head. The hairline reminds everyone of a Chia Pet.

He use to look normal. Now every time I see him, all I can stare at
is his hair. Hello.... Does he own a mirror?

I find it sexist that people will accept women wearing wigs, but disrespect
men for wearing them. There is nothing bad or in poor taste about a man
wearing a wig, just as there is nothing bad or in poor taste about a man
wearing a hat.

I think that people who insult men for wearing wigs may have something else on
their plate that they don't want to talk about.

I agree, if the wig is nicely done and doesn't shout WIG! to the
world.

On the other hand, if I were arrested for some serious crime, I'd
want John Burris to be my lawyer. Good lawyer, bad hair.

On TV his looks more fake than this photo suggests.

Of course not, only that most men wearing hats have thinning hair.
I know that my thinning fine hair easily looks poor after blowing
about in the wind, so I often put on a hat rather than try to arrange
the disheveled look.

Oh yes, that was the case in the past, but now there is Viagra

Where's Tim Gunn when we really need him. He had a great clothing makeover
show for women a couple years back. I think it was called "Tim Gunn's Guide
to Style". He went through women's closets and helped them pick out
flattering clothes. He then had them do new haircuts and such. Then they'd
present themselves with their new looks. Amazing transformations.

He should probably do something for men. I'll write him and suggest it.

Men just go natural these days. The shaved head look is in style. Even

even have to rack your brain to name balding celebs. Kevin Spacey,
Bruce Willis, the other Bruce (Springsteen), Anthony Hopkins, Phil
Collins, etc. Plus a slew of grammy award winning hip hoppers.

Oh, and John Rothman, Len Tillem and Ronn Owens, just to keep it
ba.broadcast relevant.

Here is a pic of Ronn with Tom Sinkovitz and some babes.

Easy to see just from this picture that the guy with the hair is
getting all the babes.

Regardless, I just don't think it's very nice to trash men for wearing wigs if
that's what they want to do. Of course, the wig shouldn't look silly, and a
well-designed and well-fitted one won't.

Occasionally for dress-up (Halloween, 70s parties, etc) I am inclined to wear
a huge afro. Even though it's a $25 wig from a costume shop I was careful to
get an exact match to my hair color and I trimmed it a bit to make it work
with the shape of my face. Many people who don't know me think it's real.

The old lady on the left shows that a face lift on an old lady is
often as funny looking as a wig on an old man...

You can dig up his mug shot on the Smoking Gun for the wigless photo.
