There are a bunch of new bike / pedestrian bridges under construction right
now. For something a bit different, rode by each of these today:

Mary Ave. over 280 in Cupertino
Stevens Creek Trail over Moffett in Mountain View
Borregas over 237 in Sunnyvale
Borregas over 101 in Sunnyvale

These will all be very nice additions to the area.

I had initially been a bit skeptical of the usefulness of the Mary Ave.
bridge, because it is so close to Stelling, which is also a good route
across 280. But the new bridge will give a very direct and low-traffic
route to both Homestead High and De Anza College, and may well be effective
in getting many more people to try biking than otherwise would. I've
changed my mind about it.

What's next after Sleeper Avenue? It's kind of a maze out to Fremont to
get across 85 into Sunnyvale.

One other new bike/ped bridge I noticed is in San Mateo over 101, at
North Amphlett and Monte Diablo.

It seems to be complete, but the last time I went by there it wasn't
open yet. Useful for going to Coyote Point and the Bay trail.

I don't think that's really "new" but a sesmic upgrade of the old
one. I think it's open now.
