It runs an hour but I think it is worth watching whether you agree or
disagree with his views. It is certainly better than any of the 800 or
so channels I have on DirecTV.
I'm surprised it doesn't run 10 hours. Forrester never could express
himself succinctly.
=v= With his army of Usenet geek acolytes pouncing on every
mention of a bike facility?

=v= "Relevant" in the sense of blind opposition to every hint
of the slightest inkling of any notion of anything that might
be a bike facility, without giving a moment's thought to any
individual qualities that any specific project might have.
=v= Lovely juxtaposition in that video: All "segregated"
bike facilities are evil, eeevilll, EEEVILLL; but segregated
cars-only highways are just absolutely peachy fine, because
there are other roads to bike on!
=v= My friend Ted Lemon did an interesting experiment during
The Great Cross-Posted Flamewar of 1999. He drove a car from
San Francisco to Palo Alto without using a highway. He reports
that the trip was only slightly longer than doing the same by
bicycle.
=v= Did John Forester (who participated in this flamewar) learn
anything at all from this? Of course not. His home listserve,
Chainguard, rushed to all-moderated status so that they wouldn't
have to put up with nonconforming ideas any more.
