lower/middle/upper ellen rds (off of east zayante rd)

Two or three times a year I drive down to palo alto, ride over to felton, then climb back to the ridge on east zayante rd. I'm interested in varying this a bit by riding some of the ellen rds if possible. So:
lower/middle/upper ellen rds: are they paved (they look paved in google earth, but forest hides a great deal). Are they private? If so, is there easement? (As there is for the initial section of south gate rd by mt diablo.)
Has anyone done them?
