Might as well get everything in one thread, right?
Today's ride (8/17) saw light gravel on Stage Road heading north from San Gregorio, as well as Los Lobitos. No problem riding either one.

I am finding a bunch of chip seal all over. W. Alpine and Tunitas last
weekend along with Stage. Santa Cruz County this past weekend. Monterey
had some. It seems everywhere I ride I find it. I think either budgets
just got renewed and money became available again or contracts were about to
expire.

You have to give some credit to Tom Yonkers and the Tour de Max crew. They
went out and hand swept W. Alpine last weekend before their ride. Got a lot
of the loose stuff out of the corners.
