EDUCAUSE member Brandman University introduces digital credentials as part of their online competency-based (CBE) online degree programs, which are developed in association with employers:

Brandman is one of only four institutions so far to be approved by the U.S. Department of Education to award financial aid to competency-based students using direct assessment, and is now the first of all competency-based education (CBE) programs to issue digital badges.
