Awards Amid the Pandemic

Good Cousins -

Seeing Their Majesties recent missive about Coronation, and staying healthy for it, I am reminded of what Their Highnesses stressed in some order meetings at Kris Kinder...

For the past couple of years we have been prevented from seeing each other as often as we are used to. Especially our friends from parts of the kingdom that are further from our homesteads than we are comfortable traveling to. This does not mean, however, that we have all taken a break from the activities we love to do in our Society. People have continued to work on their chosen pursuits, whatever they may be. Some have done so more publicly than others (participating online as much as we could do that way), while others have worked solitarily, perhaps only communicating with a few people, or coming to a rare in-person small gathering.

During this time we have not been as exposed to all these efforts. I tend to not join online meetings for subjects I am not directly interested in, so I don't see that cool project that someone has worked diligently on, as I might wandering past their camp. This doesn't mean they should be denied the recognition for their efforts, but rather than I need to be more proactive about letting the Crown (and Their heirs) know about the people I am aware of.

So, this is a long winded way of my asking all of you to take a few minutes to reflect on who you have personally seen improve themselves during this unprecedented time, and consider writing them an award recommendation. The online form is easy to fill out, and lets both Their Majesties and Their Highnesses know about the people you think are worthy of consideration. And remember, you don't have to be a member of an order to recommend someone for it.

Think about your deserving friends, acquaintances, even arch enemies who have striven mostly unseen these past months, and help the royal family get to know about them as you do.
