Sydney Worlds Container Update

Following on from discussions at the nationals, we have sought updated pricing from shipping agents. Back in April, the best price we obtained came to about £1,500 per boat in the basis of a minimum of 8 boats being shipped.

Because of the Middle East conflict, problems on the Red Sea and the remaining uncertainty surrounding the Panama Canal, we can’t get a committed shipping cost until 1st September.

For now, to help the association with planning, if you want to book a space in the container for Sydney, can you please transfer £250 into the association bank account. On the payment, please quote boat number and surname. Can you also email Simon Hadley on simonha...@btinternet.com to confirm. The sooner we have sufficient numbers for a container, the better, and request that deposits are paid by the end of July at the latest.

The money will be held on the basis that if the container does not go due to either events outside our control or lack of critical mass to make the event viable, then it will be returned to you. Otherwise it is a non-refundable deposit.

Evening all, just a reminder that the Weston open is less than 2 weeks away now... weather looking peachy for the 3 days!

Nathan from Weston has posted the NOR for the skiff open to be sailed w/end of 20/21 July. The club will be open for training on Friday 19th and as before, camping is available onsite for £10 per night. The club is planning to run a "cook it yourself" BBQ also. Many thanks to Nathan, Alan & other members of Weston SC for getting this off the ground.

If you havent been before, do so, it's a super event in a great location and this year, we'll be joined on the water by RS 700 & 800's.. the socials will be great so book early as entry closes 16th July and late entries will only be allowed at the PRO's discretion!
