Chair's update

World council update meeting 23/24 March
  1. Garda planning coming on well. I will be able to send a link to the online entry soon...watch this space [see above for the link!]
  2. Not wanting steal Garda's thunder... rumours have it that Ritchie and Lissa have pulled off a blinder and have secured a booking for Woollarah in Sydney Harbour for January 2025. Not too be missed 🙂
  3. Team AUS will be loading containers in late April, wishing them a safe journey
  4. The 2023 rules have been revised, there are no signifcant changes and the proposals continue to be in the spirit of evolution of the class rather than revolution. They will be going to current members for comment and reflection. Please do sign up if you want to comment on the rules ahead of a sign off meeting in Garda which will take all comments into account
  5. The UK TT event kicks off with Stokes Bay Sailing Club in April, please come along if you are interested in B14 sailing, we will be happy show the boat and weather permitting, take you for a 'B-excited' trip around the solent
  6. We know from feedback at the dinghy show that lots of people are interested in the boat and the class. They are truly a great boat and actually suit mature and younger sailers alike, team GBR 789 has a combined age of 'how dare you ask' and we're still loving it...If you want to have a test sail, know more, have a chat then please dont hesitate to put a message on the FB page or PM me...
Class Membership 2023

2023 European Class Association subscriptions
The 2023 membership forms are now live here

As a reminder if you want to attend one of the European TT events, the Nationals and of course the Worlds in Garda (European Teams) you will need to be a member of the class association.
These fees are important to make sure the class can support admin costs, promotional activities like the Dinghy Show and other support activities for the class.
Sorry for the delay everyone, turns out the new class secretary isn't having the quieter year he hoped for 😅
Be aware that cash in hand to the secretary (me) at events wont be accepted, I will instead make sure you take me to the bar with your phone so we can make a quick transfer over a pint 😉To avoid that penalty please do try to get your subscriptions in ASAP.
For 2023 if you are new to the class and unsure on attending your first ever B14 TT event then we will waive the requirement to be a class member for your first TT event. We look forward to welcoming you to the fleet so we are keen to remove any barriers to attending your first TT event, you won't regret it! (Note this doesn't apply for National or Euro/World Championships I am afraid)
For those of you that have already paid or pay by standing order 🥰If you could complete the membership form for my records it would be appreciated.

2023 Class Rules Update

2023 class association rules published today, 29 March. [Attached to this email]
They will be emailed to all members who can indicate whether they wish to accept or challenge them by 31st May 2023. They will also be published on the website.
These have been extensively reviewed and update by Paul Roberts with support from committee members and Rob Taylor.
The main changes relate to the permitted use of 6mm foam and the option to move lead if carried, from wings into the mast gate area.
if approved, they will be applied at the next major championship, Lake Garda in July 2023 where all participating boats will be subject to rules scrutiny.
