Hello B+ Choir families and C Choir with a Middle School singer,

We have an exciting and important recruiting plan for the B+ Choir for the Spring Semester and need your help!  Our goal is to get 10 more singers for the B+ Choir for the spring semester.

Our B+ Choir is singing BEAUTIFULLY and is a close knit group that can work really hard, switch to a silly moment, and then switch right back to working really hard. This is especially impressive in a Middle School age group!  (Many times we aren’t able to achieve this in the RVCC until the High School age.)  Our singers are very encouraging to one another, work diligently, and also have good at-home practice skills.  They’re impressive!  The only thing we’re missing are some more singers to balance the increasingly advanced part singing.

We need everyone’s help and it’s pretty fun and easy to help!

The first part of our plan is to have our Middle School singers talk to the Band and Choir classes at their school and hand out an informational postcard that students can bring home to their parents.

The second part of the plan is to have an RVCC parent representative from each school for new parents to contact with questions and information.

The third part of the plan is that the RVCC has just received a Grant for $1500 for scholarships for new students this year and we will award $150 to each new B+ singer making their cost ½ price of the usual second semester.

Students:

1.      Would you talk to your band and choir classes at your school?

2.     Homeschool students, is there a classroom situation where you can talk to your peers?  Would you be willing to do this?

If you’re a “yes” to #1 or #2 above, GREAT!  Here is what to do next

1.      Get permission from the band, choir, or other teacher at your school or co-op. Ask to talk at a specific date after November 18.

2.     Email Ms. D and let me know you’re “IN” and what school or co-op you will be talking to.

3.     Practice what to say.  *I’ve attached the Talking Points and you can make them personal by adding your own ideas, favorite parts of choir, and information that you feel is most important to your peers.

4.    Get materials from Ms. D to hand out at your school.  The materials will be available at our November 18 rehearsal.

Parents!

1.      If you are willing to be an RVCC representative and contact person from your child’s Middle School or Homeschool group, please let me know.

Team B+!!  The Coolest!!!   Will you join our team to help grow the B+ Choir with some more AWESOME Middle Schoolers?

Thank you!

Ms. D
