Hello.

All I know is that the film Hugo was inspired from this person, he did that 1902 rocket trip to the moon. You see the human face on the moon with the rocket in its eye.
Who though really was this person?

He was one of the first filmmakers, a pioneer and all that jazz. Trip
to the Moon is pretty damn amazing even by today's standards.

It's actually George Melies, and he far from unknown to anyone who loves
film. He was one of the very first film makers, and pretty much invented
the first special effects, and created the first science fiction and
fantasy movies. He was also among the very first horror makers.
