I believe it is important that cultures speak to each other.
This hope led me to found NICODA, a not-for-profit organization dedicated
to creating collaborative opportunities, enabling performing artists from
diverse cultures and ethnicities to work together to improve our
understanding of each other.
NICODA is The New International Center of Diverse Artists and was founded
in 2008 with a mission to provide performance opportunities to an
ethnically and culturally diverse group of artists, to excite artistic collaborations between cultures, foster diversity in the arts, and encourage artists to reach inside and touch their own unique vision of
self and art. NICODA - Aspire! be.
This summer, we are producing an International Performing Arts Festival that highlights both local artists and international cultures. It is an
exciting venture. Imagine being present to witness the ancient
performance traditions of Venezuela, to see contemporary African dancers extemporize. Imagine! It will be an electrifying experience. Help this come to life by donating to our cause, to our mission.
Our program goals for this year are exciting. The lineup includes: the festival; a visual and performing arts event co-produced with Jewish and
Arabic artists; Eastern Interpretations of Jazz; an African theater, emphasizing ritualistic dances that embody power, tradition and elegance. Past achievements include Immigrant Voices, a multi-arts & multi-cultural event and The Asian Perspective, music & dance production. Your financial support is greatly appreciated and needed, but more than that, we hope you will help us expand the NICODA message and reach out to your network of friends, colleagues & organizations to utilize our assets and recommend our artists and services, so that NICODA becomes part of
their life experience.
Our goal for phase one of this fundraising drive is to raise $250,000, with an overall goal of raising $1,000,000. Please help us by inviting your business to sponsor our events. Donations of gifts or gift certificates for our charity auction are also welcome. Your business will
be recognized on our promotional materials and your personal efforts
acknowledged. Invite your friends to donate on our website, and indicate
you as the sponsor (in the special instructions box - so that we may recognize your efforts). Checks should be made payable to NICODA (with your name in the memo section - so we may credit your efforts) and sent to
our address noted above.
Special recognition awards will be given to our greatest advocates who raise $2000 or more, ahead of our fundraising dinner in April, 2011. Will you join us?
