Long before Kristie Alley hung out behind the bar with a ball player the bar setting was used to bring home a dramatic message in Inside Moves. Built around a NBA basketball backdrop this film showcases the undermining and support in society during the late seventies and early eighties. Unlike the Boston based Cheers the character make up included the disabled of various types who use Max's as a social release, starring John Savage  as a suicide survivor they others were very realistic in their comedic take on facing adversity. There are historical references that should be of interest to a younger generation who need to understand the concept of combatting frustration. Inside Moves is a nice drive to the bucket and knocks it down in the end.
