The spirit of the B/ IAS project will be back on the B/ IAS site Oct 15th for one night only as the annual Ignition Northwest fundraiser called SeaCompression it’s a 21 and over event and not family friendly but will be loaded with lots of art and fun things to do.

I've heard a rumor that SeaCompression ends at 10pm this year, and I'm here to say that it ain't so! Gates open at 6pm and don't close until the booze runs out and we forcefully unplug the DJs at 2am!
I've heard another rumor that SeaCompression will be outdoors, and... oh wait, that one IS true! And we're prepared for it! With nearly 15,000 square feet of tents, shipping containers, and RVs to chill in, this is going to be the most DIY SeaCompression ever. Just check out our overstuffed event map:
Why outdoors? After last year's blowout attendance of 2,400 people, we simply needed more space, and we've moved to a new, larger venue: a two acre lot formerly known as the Burien Interim Arts Space. We're talkin' 80,000 square feet for art installations, theme camps, and art cars, and our floorplan is already overflowing! Plus, we got a charter bus from Seattle to Burien. How cool is that?
Our live performance stage already has a full lineup featuring Obol, Sporkestra, Billion Jelly Bloom, IGNITION, Pyrosutra, and Violoncello Man, and others. Our covered 3,200 square foot dance hall is slated for a solid lineup of your favorite Seattle DJs (lineup TBA, but it's the same people you voted for in 2009 and 2010, I swear).
Our art installation list reads like a top-hits list from CM and BM: Fusion Fire, the Air Kraken, the DMT Molecule, the Chained Glass Fire Portal, Lake Lahontan Point (er, what's left of it), the giant pool table, and the Wood Zeppelin Makeout Ship, to name a few.
Our list of participating theme camps includes Suspended Animation, Camp Foster, Flight to Mars, Juke Joint, Camp Conception, Wonder Camp, Dead Letter, Arctica, Playa Simulator, the Black Rock Theater, Camp deSade, and more.
As always, SeaCompression is a 21 and over event, with five bars ready to serve you in style. Word has it that our bars have been invaded by some of your favorite theme camps: Zombies and Legos and Juke Joint, oh my!
