Hello!

Glad to be a part of the Bangalore Astronomical Society. I'm witnessing a lot of hype around the Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) these days, but couldn't find any star parties or any event as such here on this group.

If you know some group which is going to Coorg or some darker place with binoculars or telescopes to witness the comet (from Bangalore) please let me know, I'll be very excited to join! Thanks for any leads.

Warm Regards,
Shreya

Hello,
There is a star party going on right now in Coorg organized by us. A lot of people saw the comet during the last three days through the telescope from the dark skies of Coorg.

Thanks and Regards,
Keerthi

Hi,

Following up with what Shreya has asked. Are there any star parties or star gazing events planned to see the comet in bangalore or around?

Thanks and regards,
Sanjana

Hello there,

A newbie here trying to find avenues in and around Bangalore to spot the comet buddy - C 2022 E3 (ZTF) & finally ended up here!

Are there any events being organized during the first few days of Feb to spot the comet?
Curious to know more & trying to figure out a place, suggestions.

Thanks much.

Hello all,
The comet is very faint. Yesterday, when I saw it from a dark location, it was barely visible through an 8" telescope.
The comet is low in the sky. From Bangalore, even with the telescope, it will be barely visible.
Hence not planning to conduct any event to show it to the general public.

Thanks and Regards,
Keerthi (Admin, BAS)

Hi KK,

Thanks for the detailed update.
- Guess tomo (02 Feb) would be the last break of dawn to spot the comet and I along with my friends are prepping for a night ride for the comet spotting.

Query: Any spots or location suggestions from your end that we could go? (preferably 1 - 1.5 hrs drive from Blr city limits).
Curious to know where you'd spotted it from. Thanks in advance.

Look forward to joining the Feb star party!
