BAS presents Beginner's Open House Q&A Session - Episode 2 - 11th July 2021 11AM IST

Dear All

Greetings.

Do you have questions about Astronomy that have not yet been answered? Do you want to discuss particular challenges you are facing during observation and/or with the concepts involved? Beginners, are you feeling lost in group discussions? If so, this might help you.   
 
BAS is organizing an Open House session sometime soon. We will take up impromptu questions relating to Astronomy from live participants and also ones that are pre-submitted. A panel of BAS members will answer questions to the best of their understanding on the subject. The intention is to have an interactive session and learn together.

This is a unique session focused on beginners and intermediate level of hobbyists.

Objectives of the session are to
(1) If you haven't started the hobby, how do you start? Where do you start?
(2) How do you sustain interests in the hobby? What are the various things our panelists did to sustain theirs?

A golden opportunity for all ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls....to get you going.

The submitted questions will be segregated according to topic and will be taken up by the panel. If any follow-up questions are there, while the panel is ON, you can let the meeting moderators know about it. We can have a meaningful conversation about the clarifications you had.

So let's make the session an interactive, interesting one.

Wondering who's in the panel for this episode? Here they are.

1) Prabhakaran - An avid amateur astronomer who has interests in astrophotography & visual astronomy. A keen science communicator. Prabhu is so synonymous with spectacular images of planets, DSOs as well as MW. No wonder, his captures have been showcased in many magazines, and forums.

2) Dr Avinash Singh - An engineer turned astrophysicist & an astrophotographer, pursuing his field of interest. Avinash's diet consist of supernovae for breakfast, lunch & dinner. BAS is glad to have both of them as panelists today.

The session shall be moderated by Mr Sathish Chandra, as usual.
