An excellent resource for anyone with such an interest is the Bangalore Planetarium. The planetarium has an associated organization called the "Bangalore Association for Scientific Education", through which they conduct a number of programs for students at various levels. I recall that there used to be programs for high school students to expose them to contemporary research in a wide gamut of fields. They also run a bridge program called REAP to help college (BSc / BE) students bridge the gap between academics and research, by providing them a higher-level physics or biology curriculum than what is typical of college, along with actual low-level research projects in the third year. Moreover, another club like BAS, called "Association of Bangalore Amateur Astronomers" (ABAA) has a Sunday meeting in the planetarium near the ticket booth.
Many students with interests similar to your daughter, including myself, "bootstrapped" our academic careers through the planetarium. If you can have an audience with one Mr. H R Madhusudan there, I would highly recommend it.
Regards
Akarsh
