 Hello Randos!

It's now the time of the year to start thinking about cooler weather in the Valley of the Blast Furnace! With cooler weather comes more riding opportunities. I'd like your feedback on what rides, locations, distances and dates you would prefer. I will take all of your feedback into consideration when I submit the calendar to RUSA. The 2026 calendar must be submitted in September, so please get me your feedback sooner rather than later.

Regarding the 2026 calendar, you might want to think further ahead to the 2027 running of Paris Brest Paris (PBP). If you're planning to join me on that adventure, then you will want to do some ACP events in 2026 to maximize your registration opportunities when registration opens up in 2027.
Here is more detail about PBPFor PBP 2027, the  dates for completing brevets that will go toward your registration priority will be for ACP sanctioned events that start from Nov 1, 2025 through Oct 31, 2026.
For PBP 2027, the dates for completing  ACP sanctioned brevets that count toward qualification will be those ACP events that start from Nov 1, 2026 through some point in the summer of 2027. That end date does not yet appear to have been published, but assume it will be somewhere around July 1, 2027.
Expressed another way, "So ... RUSA ACP events up to and including Oct 31, 2026, will determine registration priority.  Rides on Nov 1, 2026 and forward will be qualifying events."
I will start the calendar discussion with the following thoughts. Remember, I can use help with these events. You can pre ride any event that you help me support. These rides only happen due to someone (generally, me) giving up their time in support of others. Please consider helping to share the load.

2025:
11/8/2025: Desert Loop 200, 300, 400k
https://azbrevet.com/index-DesertLoopSeries.htm This is already approved and on the calendar. I will open registration when I can get the web updated. Here is a link to the description and other information.
11/22/2025: Vulture Mine 300k. https://www.azbrevet.com/events.php?brevet_id=24
12/20/2025: North Valley Pop (https://www.azbrevet.com/events.php?brevet_id=65), North Valley 200 (https://www.azbrevet.com/events.php?brevet_id=64), North Valley 300 (https://www.azbrevet.com/events.php?brevet_id=63) I'm considering reversing these routes to change them up. This will be pending my time and RUSA approval.

Hi Mike,

Yes, I'm looking forward to some cooler weather here in the blast furnace and the upcoming calendar of rides! Thanks for all you do as our RBA!  I'm especially happy to see a large number of populaires and 200k distance brevets, as those distances seem to be the sweet spot for me these days.  Not sure I'm up for what it takes to get to PBP in 2027.  Anyway, I like your proposed calendar and should be able to make most of this year's rides when I'm not off traveling.

All the best,

Ned Newlin
