Hello AZ Randos!

Below is a message from the Mothership regarding a change to ACP ride credit for events ridden in Nov/Dec 2023. This change applies to AZ Randonneurs' Kitt Peak 200k (Nov 18) and Vulture Mine 300k (Dec 30) brevets. If you rode either of these brevets, please read below and let me know if you have any questions.

Time is running out! Kitt Peak 300k, 400k and 600k are this coming weekend. There's still time to register and the weather looks perfect for some quality saddle time. C'mon out and experience this iconic climb west of Tucson. Support will be provided!

Subject: ACP 2024 SR Credit
To:

This email is going to all those who completed ACP Brevets in November & December 2023 without a repeat of that ACP distance so far in 2024.

ACP is changing its Super Randonneur crediting period to calendar year, i.e. January to December, from the prior alignment with their financial fiscal year, which remains from November to October.

What that means is that results in November & December 2023 will NOT count towards SR credit for 2024.

We have asked ACP if we can use a 14 month crediting period for this transition year and so far the answer has been "no".  We have appealed but do not have a final answer yet.

If having ACP SR credit is important to you, you should plan on riding additional ACP events in 2024, e.g. if you had an ACP 200k in November 2023, you should plan on completing another ACP 200k before the end of December 2024.  Remember that for ACP SR credit, you cannot substitute longer for shorter.

We do not yet know how this will impact the PBP qualification period for 2027 but suspect that it too will be on a calendar year basis.

If/when we hear back from ACP on our appeal, I'll let you know the final decision.

Any questions, fire away!

Dave Thompson
