Dear Group,
Would it be possible 🤔 to decipher the additional information in the left hand corner of  this batismal/birth record ?
Obrigada,
Ana

Hi Ana,

Ermelinda married Jose in 1909, widowed on April 18, 1923, and died in S. Pedro, Ponta Delgada, on August 27, 1973.

At the end of the note, the priest marked the date as the twenty seventh of October of ninety seventy three.

Cheers,

Carlos

There's 3 notes.

Note 1: Married Jose Correia in 1909. (The full date wasn't stated. Weird.) Don't think the books are digitized up to 1909, but you might be able to find the full marriage date on his baptism.

Note 2: Something something something widow on the day 18 April 1923. (So she was made a widow on that date by his death).

Note 2: Died in the freguesia of Sao Pedro de Porto something on the day 27 of August 1973. Right under that, it says that the note was created on the 27 of October 1973 and he signs. I would say all 3 notes were placed in that column on that day because it's the same penmanship all the way down the column.

Hi Cheri,

I believe that the excerpt you've mentioned reads "passou ao estado de viuva", which means exactly what we've indicated (widowed).

Cheers,

Carlos
