Hello!
What is the easiest and best way to obtain a certified copy of my grandfather's birth certificate from 1903.

I recently helped someone at the Angra archive get a certified copy.  The staff pulled the book to make a copy of the page and took a 20 euro payment.  They didn't have a notary on duty at the time so they took her USA mailing address since she was leaving that day.  I can confirm that she did receive the certified copy at her home within a few weeks.

I believe you would want the archive in Ponta Delgada rather than Angra.  This is assuming you are inquiring about your grandfather Antonio that you wrote about on this list in the past.  Here is a link to his baptism https://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-PD-LIVRAMENTO-B-1900-1911/SMG-PD-LIVRAMENTO-B-1900-1911_item1/index.html?page=126 (#62 starts bottom left).

The email for the Ponta Delgada archive is:  bpar.pdel...@azores.gov.pt

You will have to ask them if they can do this transaction by email and arrange electronic payment.  Otherwise, do you know someone on São Miguel Island that might help?

I hope this helps.

The email address for the archive should read:  bpar.pdel...@azores.gov.pt  From their website at https://bparpd.azores.gov.pt/contactos/
