Silvestre Monis x Maria Lopes - Agua de Pau (S. Miguel) - 1680s

Hi,

I am looking for the marriage record of Silvestre Monis and Maria Lopes from Agua de Pau, in the 1680s. I have combed through records in nearby parishes to no avail. 

Silvestre Monis and Maria Lopes are the parents of my 7th great-grandmother Maria da Costa:

Maria da Costa married Mathias Pereira in Sao Roque, on June 6, 1716

I know that Silvestre Monis and Maria Lopes had three other children, namely Manoel Monis (1689) also born in Agua de Pau, like his sister Maria da Costa, but Jose (1703) and Catarina (1706) Monis were born in Sao Roque.

P.S. I am also looking for an expert in Vila Franca do Campo ancestry. I think I have detected an issue with the records while searching for the origin of the family name Jacome.

Carlos,

Marriages for Agua de Pau exist from 1729 coming forward. Canto indexed select families from 1729 coming forward as well. So it appears the marriage books from before 1729 are lost and were lost even when Canto was creating his indices in the late 1800s/early 1900s. So you have hit one of your end of the line ancestors.
