Good morning everyone,
I recently reached out to the Civil Registry in Mira, Portugal looking for help acquiring
A birth certificate for 2 individuals that were born post 1911, hence their records
Are birth certificates and not baptism records (which are obviously available online).
The registry wrote back and told me the following (translated):
"I inform you that the birth certificate referring to Virgílio de Oliveira is computerized under No. 16 of the year 2026;
the birth certificate referring to Arminda de Jesus, is computerized under the number 256 of the year 2013, both of this Registry Office of Mira.
Thus, you can request the certificates at any Registry Office or Consulate or online certificates and they will be made available immediately."
However, all of the websites I have visited don't have this link where I can request these and have them made available immediately.
I've reached back to them requesting the link; however, have not heard back.
Does anyone have experience requesting birth certificates online in Portugal for post 1911?
Some registries share an electronic copy via the email, this one did not.
Thanks so much,
Diane
