Good afternoon; It’s “Sidenote Sam” again. I can get a lot of this but; not enough to put it all together. #26, Jacintho.

I can see Jacintho de Figueiredo who is 31 years old marrying Maria something? Resendes who is 21 years old and the daughter of Manoel Bairos Resendes and Jacintha something? De Moura. At least, that’s what I think I see.

Thanks Angela; Once again I greatly appreciate you taking the time to type it out for me. It explains what I thought was a discrepancy. I thought it was saying that he was 73 when he dies and he was not, he was 61. I was mis-reading the registry number for his age at death.

Do you know what the Manuel Bairos/Inacio de Rezendes connotates? Is the priest trying to indicate that his name was Manuel Inacio Bairos de Rezendes?

Hi Sidenote Sam!

I agree strongly with your comment on Ángela taking the time to give a full translation. It really helps a non-speaker like me recognize more words than just names and dates--Thank you Ángela!

This doesn't give the groom's age, the 31 you see is the marriage date, which is the same day the note was signed, 31 Oct 1929. So if he was born in 1901 as you say he would have been about 28. Also, the bride's father's name looks like Manuel Inácio de Rezendes to me.

Bill thanks for your input. Yes, looking at it again, I can see where it say Inácio and not Bairos. Angela already corrected my gaf on the marriage date of the 31^st.

Sidenote Sam again needs a bit of help. Does the sidenote say he died 6 August 1911 or 1961 or am I completely wrong?

Right hand page, Manoel, #14. Does it say anything else important. I can see the registry number.

Hi Sam,

I think he died in São Sebastião, Ponta Delgada (São Miguel Island) on 1 Aug of the current year. The note appears to be dated 11 Aug 1961.

You have the groom's age correct. His mother I see as Isabel de Jesus.

By the way, I found a Angelina C. Santos with the same date of birth (1 Apr 1904) and same parents surnames (except de Loura is spelled deLoira) on the California death register: date 17 May 1991 in Orange, CA.

Yes, Ângela is of course correct. I inadvertently left the "Joana" that Sam already knew off my post. My apologies.

I see the year as 1932 which would make Antonio born in 1908.

It is Angelina C. Santos (not Sousa). On the first page of Angelina's baptism it says her parents are João Cabral and Ana Filomena de Loura.
