My wife and I want Portuguese immersion lessons in a homestay in either Porto or Lisbon (preferably Porto) or Sao Miguel, Faial or Pico. Does anyone know of how we can go about this? It is a bit late in the year for us so we are thinking of April or May next year.

I took a class from Maria Oliviera some years back in my home town but she also has an experience in São Jorge. This is what she has for this year.

Hi
Thanks for the info.
Did you speak Portuguese before you went for lessons?
How did you get citizenship if you didn’t know Portuguese?

Tomas Leal outlined the dual citizenship a few years ago. It's below in the archive. It defaults to my response; expand to see Tomas' original post before my response.

Hi Gordon, í spoke a bit of really broken portugueses... There were students there that didn't, one person was from Índia and he is here now working as a chef- the class's are one hour and its one on one with a teacher and í picked my own schedule. You Coby need to speak portuguese to get a citizenship , you can get it if your grandparents are Portuguese. In my case my parents. It took 4 -months and cost $300 Canadian at the time 8years ago if í can remember correctly
Hope you are having a great day
Priscilla
