The margin note corrects the name from Francisco to Francisca. No reason is given. Most likely it was an error when the record was recorded. 

I was just looking at the humor in it.

In this case it was corrected 22 years later.  In my grandfather's sister Francisca's in 1900 case it, was corrected 41 years after the fact.

Funny that it was a Francisca recorded as a Francisco in both cases.  They were also both in a parish of Ribeirinha, but mine was on Terceira island.

I suspect she had a correct baptism record provided by her parents/godparents since she got a passport in 1920 and married in a Catholic Church in California in 1921.  It was just transcribed in the baptism book incorrectly in 1900.
