Mom looks like Francisca dos Santos. I believe you are correct on the rest. The grandparents are usually found only in the 3rd time period (1860 onwards). No grandparents here.

Hi Sam,

The mother looks like Francisca dos Santos to me. I guess that your right about Valedão because I can't think of what else V.am could be (any suggestions?) I have several Valedão ancestors on Terceira bur I've never seen the abbreviation. I see the date 11 Mar 1790 as you do. I think the godparents are Manuel and Maria, children of Antonio de Freitas and his wife Maria de São Pedro. I do not see grandparents listed as they are usually not given during this earlier era.

The DNA might match and it might not.

If you are talking the 5th cousin level (so the distant level), only some siblings will match. The DNA remnants at that point are fairly small and only some siblings inherit them from a particular ancestor. Other siblings won't.
