Dear friends!
I have suspicions about Barbara da Costa, from the Northeast, due to her father's situation. Her baptismal record is as follows:
and supposed her marriage record to Manoel Netto is as follows:
Could these records be the same Barbara? My question revolves around what Rodrigo Rodrigues states:
"António Neto, who married Barbara da Costa, daughter of Francisco da Costa, in the Northeast on January 18, 1666.
They had:
5 - Manuel da Costa, who married Bárbara da Costa, daughter of
Belchior Ferreira and ..........."
The priest doesn't mention Barbara's mother's name in the marriage certificate, possibly due to carelessness, since when he mentions her father's name, he follows it with the word "fregueses."
So, I'd like some guidance on whether I should look for two "Melchiores" in the Northeast during this period.
