Hi,

I'm trying to access the PhD thesis of João Luís Caldeira, published in 2 volumes, in 2013, at Universidade Lusíada (Lisbon).

The author compiled all available data on entails (morgadios) created in S. Miguel since the XVI century.

Ironically, I'm Portuguese, I'm an academic, I've tried accessing this work through the University's website (repository), and I've tried calling the University's library, to no avail. 

Please let me know if you have access to this work.

There are many sources for theses and dissertations online. The U.S. Library of Congress has a list of fee-based and free sources at https://guides.loc.gov/c.php?g=1428775&p=10607107

Google Scholar is another source.

A widely recommended site for international dissertations is  https://oatd.org/

Open Access Theses and Dissertations (ODTD) is free and easy to search. Unfortunately, I did not find a dissertation by João Luís Caldeira. Just using author name Caldeira, language Portuguese, and country Portugal I got the following categories of results.

Hi Karen,

Thank you for sharing the links to the U.S. Library of Congress and OATD. Those are great resources, for all intents and purposes.

As for João Luís Caldeira's thesis, I think it's just not available online (probably never was). Nevertheless, I'll reach out to researchers who have referenced this work in their articles. Some lists of references include links to this source, but they're invariably broken.
