Priest José Jacinto Ferreira Pimentel

Anyone here has in their tree a priest from the 1800s called José Jacinto Ferreira Pimentel?

I believe he was from São Miguel. He spent a few years in Santa Maria, and i think that after that he was in Arrifes.

Any clue would be very helpfull.

Hello Angela,

 

According to Cronicas dos Arrifes, he was a co-adjutor there in 1869 only with no other information.

Hi Mara, thank you for your reply. Since i last posted i was able to check what that link is all about. It's an index of something called Índices do Cartório da Mitra de Angra, that is slowly becoming available in the Atlântida magazine, and can be helpflul to Genealogy.

In adition, a relative of mine found the death record for the priest José Jacinto Ferreira Pimentel. He died in 1888 at the age of 54 in Ribeira Chã, and it states that his parents were from Villa da Lagoa. I tried to shearch the matching period of his birth, but so far nothing. 

Anyone came across his parents?

José Jacinto Ferreira & Maria dos Anjos from "Villa da Lagoa" (São Miguel)

Thanks Margaret, another José! :) Still the age on the death record is off, they forgot to add the "pouco mais ou menos".

Do you have more record on the mother? I'm wondering why she show's as Maria Miguelina on her marriage, and Maria dos Anjos on her children baptism and death records...

I am asking for other sibbling because i'd like to try to find descendants of this couple.

Hi Margaret,

After reading your reply I found on CCA an index book for a short period of baptisms in Água de Pau, and I think I found the remaining 4 children:

• (1) Cândida
• (3) José
• (4) Lebania
• (6) Miquelina

Are these names the ones you have? 

After reading Candida's record now I get that the mother appeared as Maria Miquelina in the marriage record!
