Hi all, 

Just returned from the Salt Lake City  Portuguese Conference. Had a ball and I think that everyone that attended had results in finding family! 

One of the nicest things about going is learning from others and I brought up the question of the J. A. Freitas Library of San Leandro moving. Annabelle S. checked thru Google and found that they have moved to Modesto. Their new address is: 1100 14th St., Suite E, Modesto CA. Phone:

The Library is the home of the UPEC Fraternal Organization that we use all of the time and is now the umbrella organization for ALL of the Portuguese Fraternal societies (IDES, SES etc.). They are planning an open house on Sat. Sep. 21st and there is more info on the website or you can call the number. We are sincerely hoping that with the move they will have the other membership books made available to search. Maybe even have them digitized!
