I'm having trouble with Manoel de Sousa's father, because I don't know if "Barber" appears as his profession, or if it's a surname similar to this one:
The truth is that I needed to find this record to try to find out the names of his parents, because what I was interested in was his marriage to my Paula:
and marriage between them:
I only found them with the help of member JR here in the group, but for now, this couple is causing me problems.

The situation is revolving around Paula and Manoel. Below, we have the baptismal record of Anna, daughter of Manoel Carreiro and Sebastianna de Souza:
and here the marriage between them:
note that it is the same Anna. In the marriage of Sebastianna, Anna's mother, we have:
At the time, the bride's parents had already left the present life (obviously, because Paula, for example, if she had been alive in this marriage, would have been 72 years old and her father would have been even older, which I believe explains why Sebastianna was getting married at 32 years of age:
Here, the bride's mother, instead of appearing with the surname "Botelha", as observed in the baptismal record:
is mentioned with the surname "Mello". We can see that Manoel was getting married at 47 years old, a very old age for the time. This worried me!
Now the situation is starting to get worse, because we have this marriage record of this couple who I truly believe are Anna's grandparents, Manoel Carreiro (son of Francisco Carreiro and Emerencianna de Rezende) with Sebastianna de Sousa (daughter of Manoel de Sousa and Paula de Mello).
Manoel Carreiro married at the age of 48, while Sebastianna was 32. To RATIFY this situation, we searched the baptism records in Faial da Terra, 1740-1752 and 1752-1764 (knowing that this record indicates that he was born in Faial da Terra, corroborating those of his parents) and we did not find any other Manoel, son of Francisco Carreiro and Emerencianna Rezendes de Pimentel. I may be mistaken, but for this reason I discarded this marriage record from 1767 even though she appears as Paula Botelha, and the other, as Paula de Mello.
And finally, we have the marriage of Paula Botelha (who I believe is the Paula de Mello from her daughter's marriage, marrying Manoel de Sousa:
And to find out Manoel's parents, I found his first marriage:
I don't know if the priest uses the term “barbeiro” by profession, or is it a surname similar to barbeiro.
Finally, I have this record here, on the right, at the top of the page, and I would like to know if this could be Manoel, son of Manoel Barbeiro.
I don't know if my line of reasoning makes sense, so I'm counting on your help. JR, a member of our group, helped me with two fabulous lists of my lineage that I'm using!
