Help with cause of death - Domingos do Rego

Hello all,

I need some help with the cause of death for Domingos do Rego (3rd record). After the sentence "marido de Clara de Fonseca", it says something about how he died. I can make out some of it " vindo um .....barco..................revirou, e morreo afogado e não conta aparecer mais (?)" This is my 7th great uncle. Many of my ancestors died at sea, including my grandfather but this is the first time I see it in a death record.

I believe it says he was on a fishing boat (barco pescaria) from Nordeste that overturned (revirou?) and he died by drowning (afogado).

Thanks Bill. What about after that, do you see anything about his body not being recovered? I think I see the word hú and quinze but can't make out the words before and after those.

I don't think that is "hu", but rather "em" (with interference from the "f" in "afogado" on the line above.

I thinks it says ...morreu afogado e não consta aparacer (actually looks like "apareller"?) mais ?? fiz este assento em quinze do dito mez era freguese deste matriz"

I think it says he was not seen again.  Hopefully this lame attempt doesn't get the real Portuguese speakers (such as my wife) laughing too much.

Thanks again Bill. I am literate in Portuguese but just can't make out the words. Your attempt was perfect! As per my first post, I thought that's what it said but wasn't sure if he was never seen again or if they found his body on the 15th.
