Hello everyone,

Things have been extremely busy in recent weeks, but the 40 Days of Giving project is now underway. For 40 days, from February 17 through March 28, my family and I will be giving away our entire income, as well as embracing other giving-related activities, and I will be documenting the experience on the 40 Days of Giving blog

For those on Facebook, you can become a fan of the 40 Days of Giving page and get the blog automatically posted onto your news feed:

As part of the project, we've set up a site to collect money for Heifer International. If we reach our goal of $10,000 by March 28, then I will donate my hair to Locks of Love, which will turn it into a wig for children with medical hair loss. More information (including pictures of my 20+ inch long hair) is available at:

My wife and I have also both signed up for the national bone marrow registry. And we have both given and received much food.

Get Free Books
Today, we've gone through our bookshelves and cleared off a vast number of books that I'm giving away for free. There's a list on the blog, so if you want one of the books just e-mail me and on Friday, when my paycheck comes in and we have money in the "giving" fund, I will send the books out. The books that don't get claimed will be donated to either the local library, Goodwill, or possibly the local prison. (As you can tell, I'm winging some of this.)

I'm truly enjoying the project, and the feedback I've gotten so far has been incredibly positive. Some have even been inspired to their own acts of charity, and those stories will be posted in the days to come.
