Dear all,

Warm Greetings!

Vide this mail, introducing SAT (pronounced ஸத்), a new and exciting mode of transliteration in Azhagi. SAT is an acronym for 'See and Transliterate'.

SAT is an additional mode of transliteration in Azhagi, made available only in Azhagi's UNICODE Editor, as of now.

For full information on SAT, please visit http://azhagi.com/sath.html
For a brief intro, read below:

In SAT mode, one can:
1)
type 'Aditya' to get 'ஆதித்யா'; no need to type 'aadhithyaa'
type 'aruna' to get 'அருணா'; no need to type 'aruNaa'
type 'anthony' to get 'அந்தோணி'; no need to type 'anthoaNi'
... ... ...

2)
type 'akr' to get ஆகிரா; no need to type 'aakiraa'
type 'knn' to get நடராஜன் கல்பட்டு
type 'gss' to get கீதா சாம்பசிவம்
... ... ...

3)
type 'vanakkam' to get 'வணக்கம்'; no need to type 'vaNakkam'
type 'avargal' to get 'அவர்கள்'; no need to type 'avargaL'
... ... ...

4)
type 'doctor' to get 'டாக்டர்' (or even மருத்துவர், whichever the user finds right for his needs)
type 'astrology' to get 'அஸ்ட்ராலஜி' or சோதிடம்
type 'cinema' to get 'சினிமா' or திரைப்படம்
... ... ...

and more...

As stated at the start of this mail, please visit http://azhagi.com/sath.html for full details on SAT.

SAT is a new initiative (driven partly by increased requests in the recent past, specifically asking for such a mode of transliteration in Azhagi). The first version of Azhagi with SAT mode is available for download at http://azhagi.com/pr.html

Since it is the first version (version 6.1.2) with SAT, a few bugs might arise while operating the Unicode editor in SAT mode. Hence, the download is made available in a separate link (as abovementioned). I have not seen any bugs so far at my end, though. If you spot any, kindly let me know.

If you find SAT interesting, kindly mail your comments, suggestions, ideas, etc. That will be of great help.

If and when your time/interest permits, kindly help spread the word on SAT, Azhagi in general, and all softwares aiding computing in Indian languages, in whatever ways possible for you.

kind regards
