I have checked all the downloads (for fonts and samples) to be working properly. If there are any discrepancies, kindly let me know.

Now so many people are sharing their experience with you. I thought I can share with not so recent one. YOu know several north indians labourers are working in tamil nadu. one such family from orissa came to me. I had installed azhagi plus in my lap top. My hindi is not very bad. They had introduced them selves and were very anxious. Then I typed the child name omprakash using azhagi plus in oddishi and it took some time to appear on the screen. But the happiness on parents face has to be seen, to be belived.

No more point in thanking you. Better to duplicate your services

I am trying to install azhagi and fonts to use in CoreldrawX3, Photoshop, etc...   I find all fonts in English....  Just think that I am new to this softwares, teach me how to start from the beginning.... installing azhagi software, fonts, how to use them, etc. I will be greatful to you..

I will go step by step.

 

1) Installation

As mentioned distinctly in the home page of azhagi.com, please note that Azhagi and Azhagi+(AzhagiPlus) are 2 "different" FREE softwares available for download from www.azhagi.com. Hope you have downloaded both of them. If not, please download both of them.

 

How to install Azhagi - this is a very basic procedure. The procedure is the same as what you do with most other softwares after downloading. The steps of this procedure have been listed at the very start of http://azhagi.com/oper.html itself.

 

How to install Azhagi+ - this is a very basic procedure. The procedure is the same as what you do with most other softwares after downloading. The steps of this procedure have been listed at the very start of http://azhagi.com/oper-plus.html itself.

 

2) How to type using Azhagi and Azhagi+?

The links for the one-step process to type using these 2 freewares is available right below their download links itself in azhagi.com home page (and also in the opening screens of both the softwares, after you start them).

 

For your convenience, here are the links again, below:

 

a. How to directly type in ANY application in Tamil (Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu, etc.) using Azhagi+ at http://azhagi.com/oper-plus.html#dtany - kindly please visit this link and read - it is just one step only, as such.

 

b. How to directly type in ANY application in Tamil (Hindi, Sanskrit,Telugu, etc.) using Azhagi at http://azhagi.com/oper.html#dtword-tamil - kindly please visit this link and read the appropriate section (the one which exactly meets your needs) related to Indic typing in windows applications. The procedure to type is just one step only, as such.

 

I suggest you to try to type directly in ALL applications using Azhagi+ first.

 

Once you are comfortable typing using Azhagi and Azhagi+, please read the following.

 

3) Reg. the 10 Free Unicode Fonts

As far as I have seen, invariably, Unicode Tamil fonts are bi-lingual fonts (i.e. they have both English and Tamil characters in them). So, if you just select the font in your editor and start typing, you will see English characters only. To type in Tamil using these fonts, after selecting the font (for e.g. Uni Ila.Sundaram-01) in your editor, you have to start Azhagi or Azhagi+ (whichever you are using) and press the required hotkey and start typing in Tamil, as usual.

 

4) Reg. using Unicode and Non-Unicode fonts in 'Adobe' products
