need help for malayalam

I want to type the word കൗ. but when i type kau it is shown as കൌ. I am using openoffice and windows 8.

I think for കൗ and വൗ, I can give kaU and vaU as the key mappings. By the by, you yourself can introduce these key mappings in Azhagi+ if you are even reasonably computer-savvy and if you have the time and interest. Please see http://azhagi.com/hnd/changekms.html for instructions.

If you are getting kau and vau correctly in all other applications and not getting them correctly only in OpenOffice, then it has to be a problem related to OpenOffice only or OpenOffice/Font combination only.

Please note that not all applications (including Adobe's applications) render all Unicode characters correctly.
