Dear Mr. Kumar NS,

Warm greetings!

Almost all blogs are in Unicode. So, it was a pleasant surprise to see a blog in SaiIndira font, that too carrying very profound contents.

Coming to your query:

1) 'SaiIndira' (which is in Tscii encoding and not Unicode) is not embeddable in PDF documents, in a way that the PDF documents can be read in PCs not having installed SaiIndira font.

2) So, kindly use "SaiEmbed" font (which gets installed along with 'Azhagi' software) for your PDF requirements.

3. Select the required texts of your abovementioned blog, copy it in MS-Word document, select all the text and apply "SaiEmbed" font to it before proceeding further with formatting, converting it to PDF, etc.

4. Please note that SaiEmbed font is not in SaiIndira font's style but in Sai-Sai font's style.

If you have any more doubts on the above, please feel free to let me know.

By the by, if you are not aware yet, you can also convert the abovementioned blog's contents to Unicode by using the 'Fonts converter' tool in Azhagi or by pasting the contents in Azhagi opening screen's bottom text area and then clicking 'Convert text below to Unicode' button. Unicode contents are readily readable in any PC and hence no need to convert to PDF. But, if you necessarily need to convert the Unicode contents to PDF, you can use:

a) OpenOffice Writer (part of Openoffice suite and available for download from http://openoffice.org)

b) MS Word 2007 (with latest service packs, I suppose). I think you need to install a PDF plugin for Word 2007, if you don't find the PDF conversion feature in your existing Word 2007 version.

c) An online converter like http://pdfescape.com

In my testing, only the above softwares/tools (amongst the very many free PDF converters available) helped converting Tamil Unicode contents to near perfection - including web links, etc.

kind regards.

Dear Mr.Viswanathan:
Your work towards Tamil is highly appreciated.
Could you please clarify my doubt regarding converting the SaiIndira
font web page into PDF.
I have read one web page (rajasubramaniyan.blog) in which the author
has made tamil messages by Saiindira font. When I save that page in
PDF, it works fine, and opens only in the PC where this font
available.
But as we all aware, when I try the same, where loading font is
prohibited (say, my office PC !), it doesn't work.

Do you have any alternative idea, how can I view the PDF document with
saiindira font in a PC where font is not loaded.

Thanks

Kumar. NS
