அன்புள்ள பா.விஸ்வநாதன் அவர்களுக்கு,

நான் தங்களின் அழகி தமிழ் software ஐ என்னுடைய கணினியில் நிறுவி உள்ளேன்.  அதன் மூலம் ms word இல் தமிழில் தட்டச்சு செய்ய முடியவில்லை. தமிழில் டைப் அடிக்கும் பொழுது கட்டம் கட்டமாக வருகிறது. ஏன்? keyboard-இல் 'F10' பட்டனை அழுத்திவிட்டுத் தான் டைப் அடிக்கிறேன். அப்படி இருந்தும் கட்டம் கட்டமாகத்தான் வருகிறது.
 
நான்  windows XP operating system பயன்படுத்துகிறேன்.

Using Azhagi, you can type in MS-Word in Tamil in 2 different font encodings - Tscii and Unicode.
 
1. Typing in Tscii (Most suitable for Typing/Printing/Publishing of documents, invitations, notices, circulars, etc. It involves typing using Tscii [NON-unicode] fonts like SaiIndira, Sai-Sai, Tsc_Mylai, Tsc_Kanna, Pothigai_Tsc, Ponni_Tsc, Tscu_Comic, Tscu_Paranar, etc.):
 
a) To type in Tscii in MS-Word, please see http://azhagi.com/pages/snaps/azDirectWordTam.html for a few easy steps/instructions. Typing in Tscii is simple and straightfoward.
 
b) One thing to remember always while typing in Tscii is that 'Unicode input' should be kept UNticked under 'Preferences' menu of Azhagi. i.e. the tick should be removed.
 
c) If ever you wish to share your Tscii (i.e. NON-unicode) Ms-Word documents with others, then either 'Azhagi' software or any Tscii font like 'SaiIndira' font ('SaiIndira' gets installed automatically when you install Azhagi and also available for free download and distribution at http://azhagi.com/freefonts.html ) should have been installed at recipient end.
 
2. Typing in Unicode (Most suitable for Emailing, Blogging, Chatting, Writing in Facebook, Creating Websites in Tamil, etc. It involves typing using Unicode fonts like Latha, Arial Unicode MS, etc.):
 
a) To type in Unicode in MS-Word, please see http://azhagi.com/uniset.html#wordpp for step-by-step instructions with clear-cut screen snaphots.
 
b) One thing to remember always while typing in Unicode is that 'Unicode input' should be kept ticked under 'Preferences' menu of Azhagi.
 
c) You can straightaway share your Unicode MS-Word Tamil documents with others. No need of any font or azhagi software installation at recipient end.

a) To download and use more (100s of them) FREE Tscii and Unicode Tamil fonts for your needs, please visit http://azhagi.com/freefonts.html  
b) All of the abovesaid information (and more, in detail) can be accessed from within Azhagi application itself by just clicking the highlighted banner (with caption starting as "Open any external application, ... ...") in the main opening screen of Azhagi.

Kindly check to see whether you have gone through (and effected) the steps given in the page http://azhagi.com/uniset.html#wordpp fully and correctly. 
 
In short, the steps listed in the abovementioned page (link) require you to:
 
1. Enable* Unicode FULLY in your system (Will not take more than 5 minutes).
 
2. Add Tamil-US keyboard (Will not take more than a few seconds)
 
3. Before starting to type in powerpoint slides (or MS-WORD), change keyboard layout to Tamil-US (either by selecting from the language bar or pressing Alt-Shift, as the case may be) so that in the bottom portion of powerpoint (or MS-WORD) screen, you see 'Tamil' and not 'English (U.S.)' or 'English (U.K.)'.
 
If you complete steps '1.' and '2.' above and then follow '3.' (always), you will ever type without any problems in power-point (or MS-WORD). This is for sure.
 
(*) It is possible that Unicode is already enabled fully in your Win XP (or Win2000/Win2003) system. In such cases, you can leave it as it is. And, please note that in 'Windows 7' or 'Windows Vista', Unicode is enabled automatically upon OS installation.
