As the Secretary of State's Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy, Ambassador Morningstar has a strong expertise in the Caspian and Caucasus regions. In late 1990s, as a special advisor to President Clinton on the Caspian Energy Diplomacy, Mr. Morningstar supported the realization of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline - now an essential part of the East-West Energy Corridor and a proven success of the U.S. foreign policy in the region. The hearings regarding the nomination of Ambassador Morningstar are scheduled in the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations for June 13, 2012.
