May 17, 2012 Dear Azerbaijani-Americans and friends, We are pleased to inform that the County of Orange, California issued a proclamation recognizing May 28, 2012 as "Azerbaijani National Day - the 94th anniversary of the Republic of Azerbaijan". Apart from recognizing the heritage of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) and contributions of our founding fathers, the proclamation also explicitly mentions Karabakh as an integral part of Azerbaijan; acknowledges Azerbaijan Society of America (ASA) as the oldest Azerbaijani-American grassroots organization carrying ADR heritage; and recognizes the Azerbaijani community in California as represented by Azerbaijani-American Council (AAC).
