Dear Friends,
With your sincere support and
dedication, the Pax Turcica Institute (PTI) has recently expanded its
Capwiz abilities to target local legislatures in all 50 states, in
addition to the members of the U.S. Congress and media outlets. We
therefore ask you to take part in Pax Turcica's first federal and state
advocacy action regarding the 20th anniversary of Khojaly Massacre. Even
if you took action on this issue already, take this new action again now
targeting your state representatives.
Later this month,
Azerbaijani-Americans will mark the 20th anniversary of Khojaly Massacre,
the largest mass killing of civilians in the course of the 1991-94
Nagorno-Karabakh War between Armenia and Azerbaijan. On the night of
February 25-26, 1992, Armenian forces, supported by Russia’s 366th
motorized infantry division, attacked the town of Khojaly and brutally
massacred its ethnic Azerbaijani residents. 613 civilians including 106
women, 63 children and 70 elders were tortured to death in freezing cold,
with hundreds more gone missing.
Despite the chilling
similarities to the 1995 Srebrenica Massacre Bosnia – an act of genocide
per the International Court of Justice ruling – the 1992 Khojaly
Massacre did not receive an adequate international recognition. Join the
Pax Turcica action campaign calling for a proper legislative remembrance
of Khojaly and other acts of violence committed by the Armenian forces on
the occupied Azerbaijani territories. . Please, do not
forget to also select at least 5 media targets and to forward the
responses to inst...@paxturcica.org
